2 cups flour Warm water Sugar Cinnamon (optional) Oil Pour flour into a bowl. Add enough warm water to form a firm dough. Knead until soft. Cut dough in half. Cover one section of dough with a damp cloth and set aside. Roll out the other section of dough until it is fairly thin like a tortilla. Put a little oil on the top and move the oil around until the entire topside of the dough is covered in a thin layer of oil. Sprinkle sugar (and cinnamon if you like) onto the dough. Starting from one side roll the dough into a log and pinch off each end so the oil does not run out. Take the rolled dough and twist it tightly. Twist the rolled dough as much as you can. Roll the dough out again to the thickness of a tortilla. Repeat with second section of dough. Cut into sections and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Source: Shelly Kremer |
