Overview: The International Calendar Project
Published every year since 1988 by the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) of Wisconsin-Madison, the International Calendar is important in their Third Goal efforts and those of RPCV groups across the country.
Using photographs donated by RPCVs and other world travelers, each calendar shines a light on countries where Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) serve or have served. Researchers keep track of religious and official public holidays around the world, and consult solar, lunar, and astronomical calendars to determine the dates of important events each year. From holy days to important civic dates to local market days, the International Calendar is rich in information and cultural diversity. You’ll also find demographic information and related recipes, films, books, and music to explore. For lists of these resources, click on the "Cultural Resources" button.
You can purchase the International Calendar and related international notecards on our SHOP page, but you might be able to support an RPCV group near you by buying calendars and notecards from them. To find out if there is a local group near you selling the 2026 International Calendar, click on Groups selling the calendar or contact us at international.calendar@rpcvmadison.org.
Calendar dimensions when open: 11-7/8” x 18½”
