International Calendar 2022
A is for Armenia, B is for Benin … and C is for Children. And also for this Calendar—our first "all-kids calendar," in which we celebrate children worldwide by focusing on kids in the countries where Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) have served. In two years of service, most PCVs spend a lot of time with the children of their host families and in the villages where they live, and many form bonds of love that last far beyond service.
You’ll find demographic information about each featured country, along with a suggested recipe and music, film, and book titles to explore. For a list of current and past suggestions, click on the "Cultural Resources" button or check out our "Educator Resources."
A calendar like no other: International Calendar researchers consult solar, lunar, and astronomical calendars to determine the dates of important events from year to year. From religious high holy days to important civic dates to annual local market days, the International Calendar is rich in information and cultural diversity. You can even look ahead for what to expect in 2023, including many of the important moveable holy days in various calendar systems.
