As their final project before graduating from the Maua Mazuri ("Beautiful Flowers") arts program, Gare students work together to sketch what will eventually become a colorful world map mural. Each project of this 12- week arts program empowers girls by teaching them valuable life skills through different art forms, fostering creativity and self-confidence. The mural will not only bring color to an otherwise bare wall, it will be an educational tool to be shared by the entire village. Elyssa Musaraca ©2016 |
